Metre Ideas and Design is a product design company heck bent on designing, developing, and manufacturing a variety of cool and fun consumer products, from house and home items to toys.

Will Sakran is the principal engineer and designer.  Wielding a degree in electrical engineering, along with a wide range of experience including radar systems and dancing Elmo dolls, he is well-equipped to turn any idea into reality.  He started the company in 2009 in order to focus his creative efforts on making interesting and fun items that he wanted to make (as opposed to working for The Man).  The result is a fun and nimble company where great engineering meets exciting modern design.

To cover all the product design bases, Metre I&D draws on the expertise of the smart, talented, and creative people at its disposal, including industrial designers, graphic designers, and marketers.  Utilizing these resources, Metre is able to develop products from the idea stage through to the user's hands.

An underlying philosophy at Metre is that people should be making and doing more stuff with their free time.  To that end, Will maintains the EIY (Engineer It Yourself) blog, which helps the DIY crowd learn more about product development and manufacture so that they can take their creations to the next level.
